Shady Side for Van Life (“the app”) is made by Kristin Corley. It does not collect, store, or share any personal data.
Location
The app asks for permission to use your location so it can calculate where the sun is at your parking spot. Your location is used only on your phone, in the moment, for that calculation. It is never sent anywhere, never stored on a server, and never shared with anyone.
You can use the app without granting location access. It will then show sun positions for a default location until you allow it.
Compass
The app reads your phone’s compass to show which way the van is pointing. This stays on your phone.
Purchases
Shady Side Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The app never sees your payment details. Apple’s privacy policy covers the transaction.
No tracking, no analytics, no accounts
The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party code that collects data. It works with no internet connection.
Settings stored on your phone
Your preferences (door side, van dimensions, heading, and similar) are saved on your phone only, so they are there the next time you open the app. Deleting the app deletes them.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
